TongatapuThe parent church of Tokaikolo Christian Church is situated in Tonga in the village of Tofoa on Tongatapu Island. The church is named Lavengamalie. As explained above it was established firstly as a “fellowship” between 1979 -1986. In 1986 this fellowship became officially registered as a church. The church’s first minister, Rev. Dr. Liufau Vailea Saulala was ordained at that time. Lavengamālie has been and remains today as the central gathering point and administrative centre of the church since its establishment. The area covered by the church property, originally donated by a member, is about 8 acres and is located on the border of the island’s central Fanga’uta Lagoon.

The entrance way to the church at Lavengamālie Worship ServicesIn the early days services were often held outdoors under the trees or in people’s homes. Today, in areas where the congregation has not yet built its own church, the people meet in hired halls and church buildings.

Tokaikolo’s Christian Church at Ha’ateiho pastored by Reverend Sione H.Maile Eua IslandThere is just one congregation on ‘Eua. They have not yet built their church building but meet in a hall each week. The Outer IslandsThere are several congregations on the outer islands. Ha’apaiThe main work is at Pangai, the central township of this island group. The church there is named “Senē” and was opened by Honourable Fakafonua, the then the Governor of the Ha’apai in 1993. ‘Ofa Mo’oni Christian Primary School was opened there in 1989. The first Principal was Lesieli Vaini’aku Paongo.
