Introduction and Location

The first church opened in New Zealand was named Nasaleti. It was opened
in 1997 by King Tupou Taufa’ahau IV

Tokaikolo Christian Church is a Bible–believing, protestant, evangelical church which arose in the Kingdom of Tonga in 1978. It is an indigenous church.  

The church’s membership is almost entirely made up of Tongan nationals although it welcomes all Bible-believing Christians of any nationality. The word “Tokaikolo” is a Tongan word meaning, “The Lord is in your midst” (Zephaniah 3:15).Today he church has branches throughout the Pacific: in Australia, Hawaii, Mainland USA, New Zealand and American Samoa. The membership is approximately 6000 of which about 50% reside in Tonga.
